How can Cliff even CLAIM to be a geek if he is so deficient in Star Trek knowledge?!

Cliff is more like a geek in training when it comes to sci-fi and fantasy. He is a major Bible geek tho. And I would like to point out, Star Trek is not the most important think when it comes to sci-fi geeky stuff. That would be Babylon 5 and Firefly/Serenity.
